CHALLENGE

Building on the success of a charitable fundraising event produced by Herb Karlitz, Karlitz & Company conceived the unique and elevated Celebrity Chefs & Friends Golf and Tennis Tournament Benefiting City Harvest. Bringing together celebrities, athletes, and culinary icons, this event supports City Harvest’s mission to rescue and deliver surplus high-quality food, for free, to our neighbors in need.

IDEA

This “tournament” is, in essence, a food and wine festival that happens to take place on a golf course. Attendees have the opportunity to engage with their favorite chefs and athletes during the golf and tennis tournaments, while enjoying signature bites and premium wine and spirits by NYC’s finest chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists. Game, set, feast!

Impact

The fifth annual Celebrity Chefs & Friends Golf and Tennis Tournament hosted by Golf Legend Lee Trevino and featuring Tennis pro Reilly Opelka, featured a day of unparalleled bites and sips from more than 65+ of NYC’s top chefs and sommeliers, prize-laden golf swings, and ‘return to serve’ tennis challenges and competitive play. The 2024 Tournament raised enough to feed more than 1.3 million New Yorkers! “The tournament is, and in the future will persist to be, North Jersey's must-attend gastronomic event of the year.” – Bergen Record
